Webinar – Every Generation Safe (Part 1): The Role of Grandparents in Secure Firearm Storage

In honor of Grandparents’ Day (September 13) and Firearm Suicide Prevention Day (September 8), join Brady’s End Family Fire program and Grandmothers for Gun Responsibility for a powerful discussion with the Alzheimer’s Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) about the life-saving importance of secure firearm storage and protecting loved ones exposed to risk factors such as cognitive decline, isolation, and chronic illness.
Grandparents are often caregivers, mentors, and protectors of our families. But if a grandparent experiences cognitive decline while having access to a firearm, the risk of unintentional shootings and firearm suicide increases significantly. Surveys show up to 60% of dementia patients have firearms at home, and about half are stored loaded. Our webinar will explore how ensuring secure firearm storage at home can protect our aging loved ones and those around them while preserving their dignity and independence.
🔸 Register now to save your spot and be part of the conversation on firearm safety. Information to join the Zoom will be sent to your email upon registration.
Note: This webinar is the first of a two-part series (be on the lookout for additional information on the webinar planned for October).
