WE’VE LAUNCHED A BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN
URGING SAFE GUN STORAGE

Our billboard campaign carries a clear and urgent message: responsible gun storage prevents tragedy. We brought the message of gun responsibility at home to Downtown Seattle, WA—the city where the Grandmothers for Gun Responsibility organization was founded. The campaign followed a summer marked by shootings involving young people and served as a reminder of the importance of keeping guns safely stored and out of the hands of children and teens.

We also erected billboards in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, and Marion County, Indiana—two areas with high rates of household gun ownership. Nine weeks in these locations and then on to other states.

Pennsylvania

10 %

In Pennsylvania’s Monroe County, estimates suggest more than 70 percent of households may have access to a firearm.+

Indiana

Marion County – home to Indianapolis – has a firearm death rate roughly 2.5 times higher than the national average.+
